What is the forward voltage of a point contact diode in a crystal detector
In the past, people used a cat is whisker and a crystal such as galena for
a diode. Perhaps some help in finding out the forward voltage of a point
contact diode consisting of a pencil lead as the cat is whisker and a
rusty razor blade as the crystal?
The forward voltage of a germanium and of a galena diode are
same, which is 0.3 volts.
On a common diode forward voltage will be in range from 1.0 (Ge
diode) to 1.5 (Si diode) Volts.
0.57 approximately theorietically.
